The whole world has realised the significance of women participation in every fields especially politics and corporate world. But, India is still lagging behind as far as women participation is concerned particularly in the Corporate world. The gender gap is quite wide in India Inc across the ladder. Only 36% of women labour force is available in India while only 22.6% women are employed in organised institutions. The scenario gets worse when we move to the top management level from bottom. The gender gap in managerial position is very stark with merely 3% to 6% of women able to reach senior management level and only 4.9% women are part of board of directors in Indian companies.
